The Government of India will be hosting the 14th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention from 07 to 09 January, 2017 at International Exhibitions Centre in Bengaluru, in partnership with Government of Karnataka. The theme of the 14th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is “Redefining Engagement with the Indian Diaspora”. Honourable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi will deliver the Keynote Address on 08 January 2017. Thereafter, Chief Ministers of select States will address the delegates and invite them to participate in various developmental programmes of the respective States. The PBD will conclude on 09 January 2017 with Valedictory Address delivered by Honourable President of India Shri Pranab Mukherjee, who will also confer Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards.
‘Youth PBD’ is a special segment, which was introduced at the 13th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas. It is open to NRI and PIO youth of the age group 18 to 30 years. It will be inaugurated by Honourable External Affairs Minister Smt. Sushma Swaraj and Honourable Minister for Youth Affairs Shri Vijay Goel at Bengaluru on 07 January 2017 and will include a plenary session on “Problems faced by Indian students abroad and NRI students in India”.

Online registration is open at the website www.pbdindia.gov.in , which also contains details of the Programme. A PBD 2017 Flyer providing further details is given below. Registration of all delegates is through an online process, which includes payment of registration fees. There is discounted registration fees for young NRIs and PIOs and for group registrations. The last date for registration online is 07 December 2016. All NRIs and PIOs in Oman are invited to participate at Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2017.
The Embassy of India in Muscat will also celebrate Pravasi Bharatiya Divas 2017 on 09 January 2017. Details of the Programme will be announced later. All Indian nationals and Persons of Indian Origin iving in Oman are invited to join the celebration.
