Embassy of India, Muscat Hosts Curtain-Raiser on Global Ayurveda Summit and Kerala Health Tourism Summit.  

Embassy of India, Muscat, hosted an India-Oman Business-to-Business (B2B) Meet focused on healthcare, along with the curtain-raiser event for the 6th Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Global Ayurveda Summit and the 11th CII Kerala Health Tourism Summit.  The event featured the participation of nine prominent Indian hospitals, led by the CII Kerala Chapter. Over 50 Omani health sector professionals and travel agents attended, facilitating direct interactions between Indian hospital professionals and their Omani counterparts.

2. Dr. Mona Al Balushi, Acting Director of the International Cooperation Department represented the Ministry of Health of Sultanate of Oman. Other guests included Dr. Badriya Al Araimi, Chairman of Future Health Hospital, and Dr. Lamya Al Balushi, Director of Darsait Medical Centre, Ministry of Health.


3. H.E. Amit Narang, Ambassador of India to the Sultanate of Oman, highlighted the significant contributions of Indian healthcare professionals to Oman's healthcare system. Ambassador said "India, and particularly Kerala, has become a preferred destination for Omani citizens seeking healthcare treatments. The state’s focus from healthcare to wellness has made it an attractive hub for medical tourism." 


4. The delegation aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration in healthcare sector and to showcase the strengths of India’s healthcare system. They highlighted India as an attractive destination for medical tourism, particularly focusing on Ayurveda, to Omani stakeholders. Ayurveda is popular in Oman, with many Omanis seeking holistic and natural treatments for health and wellness.

6. The contributions of Indian healthcare professionals, including doctors and nurses in both traditional and modern medicine, are highly appreciated in Oman. India remains an attractive destination for Omani citizens seeking medical treatment, and the visit of the delegation will further srengthen ties in medical tourism and healthcare services.
