Grand Celebration of 77th Independence Day of India in Oman

The 77th Independence Day of India was celebrated in Oman with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The Embassy building was lit up in tricolour on the eve of Independence Day. 

2. A flag hoisting ceremony was organized in the Embassy to celebrate Independence Day of India with the Indian community on the morning of 15th August. Ambassador Shri. Amit Narang hoisted the tricolor, which was followed by singing of National Anthem. In addition, a soulful rendition of patriotic songs by Indian School Seeb students added color to the celebrations.

3. Ambassador Shri Amit Narang read out excerpts from President of India's address to the Nation. He encouraged everyone to be a part of India’s growth story and the journey towards self-reliance and propagate India’s message of peace and development.

4. Ambassador spoke about Mission LiFE, an initiative launched by Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, noting that by making small yet impactful changes in our daily lives, each one of us can contribute to safeguarding the environment.

5. A special counter showcasing Indian millets commemorating 2023 as the ‘International Year of Millets’ was arranged at the Embassy premises on this occasion. Millets serve as a solution to various food security challenges and promote holistic health.  

5. The students of Indian School Al Ghubra also joined hands to celebrate in this joyous occasion with a dazzling cultural event held at the Indian School Al Ghubra. The students showcased the best of Indian culture through mesmerizing cultural performances recalling India’s golden past and glorious future.

6. The celebrations in Oman were reflective of the greatness of India's civilization, unwavering commitment of all Indians to the nation's spirit of unity and integrity, and India's transformative journey from its birth as a nation 76 years ago to become a beacon of global growth and development. The celebrations also reflected the uniquely strong partnership between India and Oman and the abiding bonds of friendship between Indian and Omani people.
