Embassy of India, Muscat, is pleased to announce the launch of 2nd edition of 'Bharat Ko Janiye' (Know India) Quiz, which is being organized by Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, with a view to encourage Foreigners, including Omanis, as well as Non-resident Indians (NRIs), and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs/OCIs) to enhance their knowledge about India. It offers the participants chance to win several exciting prizes, including a free trip to India and 15-day tour in India.

            Bharat Ko Janiye (BKJ) Quiz 2018 is open to Omanis,  Indians (NRIs) in Oman  and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs/OCIs) in Oman who are between 15-35 years of age as on 1 January 2019 (i.e. born between 01 January 1984-January 2004). The BKJ quiz will be conducted for three separate categories of participants: (a) Omanis; (b) Non-resident Indians (NRIs); and (c) Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs/OCIs). Topics of BKJ Quiz will include Indian Art, Democracy, Economy, Geography, Personalities in Music and Dance, Science & Technology, Languages & Literature, Education, Traditional Crafts, Cinema, and Renowned Personalities.

            The Quiz 2018 will be conducted in 4 rounds. The 1st round of the Quiz will be conducted online for participants from Oman at the portal: www.bharatkojaniye.infrom 16-30 September 2018. Online registration is open till 15 September 2018. Top three participants from Oman, in each category of competition, in the 1st round of the Quiz, will be awarded by Embassy of India, Muscat. They will also qualify for the 2nd round of 'Bharat Ko Janiye' Quiz.

The 2nd round will be conducted online for all winners of the 1st round from across the globe in three categories NRIs, PIOs/OCIs and Foreigners. Top 10 worldwide finalists from the 2nd round, in each category, will be invited to participate in the 3rd round/Semi-final Round and 4th round/ Final Round to be held in New Delhi. They will be provided air fare and hospitality for their participation in the Quiz in New Delhi. They would also be invited to join ‘Bharat ko Janiye Yatra’-a 15 day tour in India. The top three winners in Final Round will be awarded Gold (22 ct), Silver (50 gm) and Bronze (50gm) medals respectively and Certificates at 15th Pravasi Bhartiya Divas (PBD) Convention 2019, which will be held on 21-23 January 2019 at Varansi, Uttar Pradesh, under the theme “Role of Indian Diaspora in building a New India”.
